there are scientific terms for the things you’ve done to me.
like the time you told me you weren’t sure you could love me, which resulted in the parasympathic flexation of my chordae tendinae (or, the pulling of my heartstrings).
or how after you left, i was ravaged by hallucinations stemming from an episode of severe insomnia (or, thoughts of you in an absence of sleep).
but when it comes to the actual heartbreak, so blatant and literal, there aren’t any scientific terms, and certainly none from a mind so ignorant as mine, to describe it.
